Here is a small selection of local events for you to enjoy this fall:

Through December 31 – Holiday Lights in the Garden

5 pm. $4 donation. Florida Botanical Gardens, 12520 Ulmerton Rd., Largo. Annual event in which over a million lights twinkle in amazing displays of color and characters. Special performances throughout the Holidays. www.flbg.org for schedule.


Friday, December 1 – Opening Day for Friday Morning Market

9 am – 2 pm. Free. Treasure Island Community Center Lawn, 106 Ave., Treasure Island. Fresh produce, foods, plants, local products and artistic treasures. Live entertainment. www.islandneighborschamber.org


Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 – Corey Avenue Art Festival

10 am – 5 pm. Free. Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach. Annual holiday tradition with an array of over 200 Fine Artists and their creative expression in various mediums. Perfect for Holiday shopping. www.coreyave.com


Saturday, December 2 – 90th Annual Santa Parade and Snowfest in the Park

10 am start time for Santa’s Parade, 10:30 am – 3 pm for Snowfest. $5 wristbands for Snowfest. The parade will travel down Central, north on Beach Blvd. Ending at 5th Ave. N. Snowfest will take place at N Straub Park, Beach Blvd. NE, St. Petersburg. Enjoy this age old tradition of the Holiday Parade with marching bands, floats and the arrival of Santa followed by Snowfest in the park with tons of snow for a kiddie toboggan slide, art tent, karaoke, moonwalk, giant slide, “glice” ice skating and a Kiddyland area designed especially for preschoolers with inflatable train, cookie decorating and more. Wristbands required for all activities. Wristbands can be purchased online at any St. Petersburg recreation centers


Saturday, December 2 – Jingle Bell Kid’s Fishing Tournament and Tree Lighting Celebration at John’s Pass.

1 – 8 pm. Free. John’s Pass Boardwalk, Madeira Beach. Kids enjoy fishing from the dock with bait and prizes provided, please bring rod and reel. Holiday cheer. Hosted by Angler Armory. Followed by the annual Village Holiday Tree Lighting and Holiday celebration.


Sunday, December 3 – Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Street Parade

1 pm. Free. Annual tradition with parade beginning at East Gulf Blvd. and weaving through the island until ending at Kolb Park, 1507 Bay Palms Blvd. Indian Rocks Beach. www.indian-rocks-beach.com


Friday, December 8 – Boat Parade and Winter Festival in the Park

6 pm. Free. Horan Park,Boca Ciega Dr., St. Pete Beach. Don your Holiday best and come enjoy the evening festivities with music, kids crafts and a visit from Santa. www.spbrec.com


Saturday, December 9 – Holiday Parade and Christmas Market on Corey Ave.

9 am. Free. Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach. Parade will begin at the St. Pete Beach City Hall and loop back around passing the Library. Santa will greet the children after the parade at the Library where there will Grinch based crafts, face painting, light refreshments and the showing of an interactive “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”. www.spbrec.com


Saturday, December 9 – Annual Gulfport Illuminated Boat Parade

6 pm start immediately following Holiday Hoopla Street Festival. Parade will be visible for the Gulfport Waterfront Park along Shore Blvd. www.visitgulfportflorida.com


Saturday, December 9 – St. Petersburg Illuminated Boat Parade

6 pm. Free to watch though special grandstand seats will be available for purchase. Vinoy Bay and around the waterfront. Enjoy this annual tradition as boats compete for cash prizes. Great holiday tradition. www.stpeteboatparade.org Benefits the Rotary Club.


Saturday, December 9 – 51st Annual Madeira Beach Festival of Lights Boat Parade

Parade begins at 6:30 pm departing ROC Park, 200 Rex Place, Madeira Beach ending at John’s Pass Village at approximately 8:30 pm. Annual holiday tradition for all ages. www.madbeachfun.com


Friday, December 15 – Treasure Island Holiday Boat Parade

6:20 pm start from The Club, Treasure Island Causeway and ending at John’s Pass approximately two hours later. Please note the Treasure Island Causeway Bridge will close at 7 pm for about 20 minutes to allow parade to pass. www.mytreasureisland.com


Saturday, December 16 – Indian Rocks Beach Lighted Boat Parade

7 pm. Free to participate and free to enjoy, Parade route begins at Holiday Inn Harborside on Boca Ceiga Bay and winding through the island heading under the Walsingham Bridge and ending at Harbour Drive N. www.indian-rocks-beach.com


Saturday, December 16 – Holiday Pub Crawl at John’s Pass Village

6 pm. $10 admission or a new unwrapped toy. Check-in at DeLosa’s Pizza from 6 – 7 pm and crawl your way through John’s Pass and be back to Mad Beach Brewing by 10 pm for the after party and show off your Ugly Sweater. Sunday, December 31 – 25th Anniversary First Night Downtown 2018

4 – 12 midnight. $12 adult, $5 children prior to 12/30. $15 adult, $10 child 6 – 12 years. Under 6 free. Throughout Downtown St. Petersburg with fireworks over Vinoy Basin at 8 pm and 12 midnight. Sunday, December 31 – 2018 New Year’s Eve Gala
